Rare lamp designed by Gio Ponti in 1931.
Table lamp 'Bilia' mod. 2474 by Gio Ponti for Fontana Arte, Italy, circa 1960.
Composed of two primitive shapes: a cone and a sphere.
The cone is made of aluminum and is finished with the original textured lacquer.
The sphere is made of fine frosted glass, with a magnificent satin shine typical of Fontana Arte glass of the period.
These two elements, the structured lacquer and the quality of the glass, make this lamp special and different from later productions.
Although these differences seem small, their impact is enormous. The frosted glass globe diffuses the light in a soft and pleasant way, providing a warm light.
