Additional information:
Hervé Morvan (1917-1980) was a French poster artist and illustrator, renowned for his colorful and refined advertising posters, creating iconic visuals that combined humor and simplicity. His work, often compared to that of Raymond Savignac, marked the evolution of XNUMXth-century advertising design.
Trained at the École supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré in Paris where he learned to master mural art, frescoes and stained glass, Hervé Morvan chose to turn to advertising illustration. His first poster was printed in 1942. Author of more than 150 film posters, he is also responsible for images for Gévéor wine, Gitanes cigarettes, Kelton watches, etc. He is the author of the stylized versions of the head of the Senegalese rifleman Banania, produced in the 1950s.
Like other poster artists of this period such as Villemot and Savignac, Morvan was inspired by the work of Cassandre, Loupot and Carlu.
