Constant Duval is a French painter, poster artist and designer. From 1910 until the nationalization of the French railways in 1937, he created numerous posters for the companies operating the various railway networks. He is one of the most sought-after illustrators of this time for this type of posters, like Roger Broders.

On the poster, women wash their clothes in the Loire, on the bank facing the castle. The latter is in the background. We can see its ramparts overlooking the city.

The Château de Saumur is a castle located in the Loire Valley, in Maine et Loire, at the confluence of the Loire and Thouet rivers. It is a castle from the Medieval and Renaissance periods.
Today, the castle is a museum of decorative arts as well as a museum of horse harnessing.
