Additional information:
Hervé Morvan was a famous French poster and graphic designer, known for his iconic advertising posters. His works are distinguished by their colorful, humorous and often playful style, which marked the advertising aesthetic of his time.

From a young age, Hervé Morvan was noticed for his talent as a designer, he enrolled at the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris where he learned to master mural art, frescoes and stained glass. He began his professional life in 1934, as a decorator, and by painting the frescoes of the films that adorn the facades of cinemas. Subsequently, he would produce numerous posters for the seventh art, but also commercial posters.

Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux (TAI) was a French airline that played an important role in the development of air links between France and its colonies, as well as other intercontinental destinations after World War II.

Founded in 1946, this company specialises in long-haul flights, serving in particular Africa, Asia and the Pacific, with the emblem of the “winged griffin holding the world in its claws”.

In the center of the poster, a woman wears a flower necklace, typical of the Polynesian Islands and as a pareo, the artist chose to represent a conch. Indeed, the woman seems to emerge from a shell, holding a palm tree in her hand, while being flown over by a TAI plane.
