Painter of compositions with figures, landscapes, urban landscapes, seascapes, pastellist, post-impressionist. He was a student of A de Richemont, Luc-Olivier Merson, but it is from his second master Emile Dameron that he takes his taste for anecdotal landscapes that he enlivens with peasant crowds, fishermen and boats, rocky coasts and processions, landscapes, seascapes and scenes of Breton life, it is the whole repertoire of folkloric Brittany that nourishes his work endowed with a well-assured technique which is the faithful mirror of the painter's fervor for Breton daily life. Exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1909, he received an honorable mention in 1909, a silver mention in 1921, became a member, received a gold medal in 1935 and was classified hors-competit in 1939. A landscape painter, he was the winner of the Prix de l'association amicale des paysagistes français.
