Painter of compositions with characters, landscapes, urban landscapes, seascapes, pastelist, post-impressionist.
He was a student of A de Richemont, Luc-Olivier Merson, but it is from his second teacher Emile Dameron that he got his taste for anecdotal landscapes that he animates with peasant crowds, fishermen and boats, rocky coasts and processions, landscapes, seascapes and scenes from Breton life, it is the entire repertoire of folkloric Brittany that nourishes his work endowed with a well-assured technique which is the faithful mirror of the painter's fervor for everyday Breton life. Exhibitor at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1909, he received an honorable mention there in 1909, a silver mention in 1921, became a member, received a gold medal in 1935 and was classified hors-concours in 1939. Painter of landscapes, he was awarded the Prize of the friendly association of French landscapers.
