Founded in 1804 by Antoine-Vital Cardeilhac, the Cardeilhac house quickly established itself among the most prestigious Parisian goldsmiths. XIXᵉ century. Renowned for the quality of its carvings and its creations, both classical and innovative, it particularly excels in the reinterpretation of the Louis XV and Rocaille styles, popular under the Second Empire and the Third Republic.
Under the successive leadership of her descendants, Cardeilhac participated in the great Universal Exhibitions of Paris (notably 1867, 1878, 1889 and 1900) where she obtained several medals and distinctions. She developed refined table services, prestigious pieces and exceptional silverware, often commissioned by an aristocratic and bourgeois clientele.
In 1951, Cardeilhac was acquired by Christofle, which continued to produce some of its designs and preserve the legacy of its expertise. Today, Cardeilhac pieces are highly sought after for their elegance and quality of workmanship, illustrating the golden age of French goldsmithing.
