This is a cigar humidor shaped like a small house or chalet, made primarily of dark oak and decorated with gilded brass elements. The attention to detail and the delicate ornamentation indicate that it is a handcrafted piece from the 1900s, likely of French origin. The exceptional aspect of this cigar box lies in its ingenious opening mechanism: its roof opens via six tilting slats, manually operated by a small lever hidden in the porch steps. Lifting the roof slats reveals cylindrical compartments designed to hold individual cigars. This humidor can hold up to 42 cigars in its 42 brass rings. The mechanism opens like a barrel organ or bellows, revealing the cigars arranged vertically.

To close it, you must turn the porch steps in the opposite direction, but be careful, not all the blades work automatically. Simply flatten them by hand as shown in the video. This cigar box is decorated with a small, symbolic door framed by a gilded brass motif, small carved steps, and an oval window above, reminiscent of a residential facade. The sides are adorned with riveted brass pieces, giving it a look that is both solid and elegant. This type of cigar box is designed to keep cigars in good condition, preventing them from drying out. But it can also be considered a luxurious decorative piece, often displayed on a desk, in a smoking room, or a library. Its original opening mechanism from the top makes it a curiosity and a luxury gift for tobacco enthusiasts. It's pure magic! This piece is a high-end decorative box. Besides their storage function, antique cigar boxes are often collected by enthusiasts for their craftsmanship, design, and nostalgia.
