Lovely oil on panel representing a group of elegant and elegant on a bank waiting to board boats.
Charles Donzel was born on February 6, 1824 in Besançon and died on March 20, 1889 in Paris.
After hesitating between music, sculpture and drawing, he devoted himself to painting. Landscape painter and watercolourist, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1859.
His friends Corot, Troyon and Daubigny nicknamed him the "water painter" because the presence of water is almost omnipresent in his work: in his landscapes of Limousin, Franche-Comté, Maine and Normandy.
