Silver-gilt ciborium richly decorated with Eucharistic symbols: the vine and the wheat, which represent the blood and the body. The circular foot decorated with medallions representing Christ, the Virgin, Saint Joseph and the instruments of the Passion.
The etymology of the word ciborium designates a water lily flower. Such is the shape of this sacred vase intended to receive the Body of Christ in order to be distributed to the faithful, during or outside the mass.
