Vincent de Paredes, born in 1845 in Saint-Carlos, is a renowned painter in genre painting. Reproductions of his works are very successful in European publications. He began his training at the School of Fine Arts in his hometown, then went to Madrid to copy the masterpieces of the Prado Museum. After winning a bronze medal at the Fine Arts exhibition in Valencia in 1879, he moved to Rome and devoted himself to Orientalist painting, influenced by Mariano Fortuny, whose Orientalist themes were very popular in Europe. era.

In 1884, he settled in Paris, where his style evolved towards so-called "coat" paintings, scenes of salons furnished in the Louis XV style, abandoning Orientalist themes.
