DUPRE Léon Victor - born in Limoges in 1816 - died in Paris in 1879
Genre painter, animated landscapes, landscapes
Five years younger than his brother Jules DUPRE, Léon Victor DUPRE is his pupil -
Like him, he puts his easel on the banks of rivers, under the stormy skies of Berry, Limousin, Isle-Adam or Normandy and frequents Barbizon. In his paintings, Léon Victor DUPRE shows a pleasant freedom of touch and an organized composition that his pantheistic sense in no way enslaves.
He exhibited regularly at the Salon and obtained a medal in 1849.
