Glass print with translucent blue green polychrome decoration with Scottish decoration
marked Christian DIOR, at the tip under the base.
In 1969, the year when everything seemed permitted, Christian Diora commissioned Ercole Barovier for the development, design and production of a series of corked bottles. This is inspired by Scottish fabric weaving and was made by Barovier to be distributed exclusively by Maison Christian Dior in Paris and across all of its branches. The bottle is obtained by fusing polychrome glass canes arranged in Scottish patterns. Several color variations existed, generally in blue, green, red tones in a mass of clear glass.
Each cork was blown to fit the neck of the bottle perfectly. This example was probably produced between 1969 and 1975. The collaboration between the two houses dates from 1969.
