Extremely rare and sublimely refined set of gold lacquered table and writing desk

A very fine and rare set comprising a writing table (bundai) and its writing desk (suzuri) in gold lacquer, hira and taka maki-e and kirigane. The decoration represents a thatched cottage placed on an island with a tea house in the background, surrounded by pine trees. On the edge of the table, finely chiseled silver fittings complete the very high quality of the table.
The writing desk uses the same grammar of lacquer criteria used, with an ink stone and silver water pourer inside decorated with cranes in flight.
The cover depicts mountains and pine trees, always depicted with great finesse.
The original wooden and calligraphed boxes accompany the set.
Period: late Edo early Meiji 19th century.
Dimensions: bundai, 60,3 x 36,5 x H 13,3 cm
Dimensions: suzuri, 25,7 x 23,8 x H 4,5 cm.
