Precious copy of a present, printed on large paper and bound with the coat of arms of the Molé family by the workshop of Pierre Rocolet. The recipient of this work was certainly Mathieu Molé (1584-1656), first president of the Parliament of Paris, who played an important role as conciliator, at the time of the Fronde, between Anne of Austria and the Parliament. He was also a great bibliophile. The decorated roulette which borders the interior frame of our binding is identical to that used for the binding of Rommant de la Rose, made by the workshop of Pierre Rocolet and kept at the BnF (no. FRBNF30557601). The weapons were retouched in the past, making their definitive identification difficult.
