Beautiful artistic publication printed on pure Japanese cloth with special Japanese folding. The Tokyo publisher is Kané-Mitsou Masao, the Shueisha printer, under the direction of Yamamoto Yeijiro. The admirable full-page illustration is made up of 2 illustrated covers and 28 original Japanese color prints by Kano Tomonobou, Kadjita Hanko and Koubota Tosqui. All text pages are illustrated with black drawings. The preface recalls the publisher's first publication, “Les Fables de La Fontaine” and gives some details about the artists: Tomonobou is a representative of the Kano school, founded by his famous ancestor and Hanko, one of the coryphées of the realistic school of Yosaï.
