Born November 9, 1894 in Rouen / Died in 1953 in Paris.

Painter of urban landscapes, gouache painter, watercolorist, pastellist, draftsman, post-impressionist.

Lucien Génin was first a student at the School of Fine Arts in Rouen, then in 1919 Lucien Génin was admitted to the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. In 1932 Lucien Génin received a prize from the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1960 a personal exhibition of his works was organized in Paris. Lucien Génin painted in oil and gouache.

Lucien Génin received very comprehensive training, but developed a personal technique full of spontaneity with an innocent look at the simple things in life. Lucien Génin mainly painted in Paris, but some views of Rouen, Lorient, Dinan, Marseille and Villefranche-sur-mer are worth noting. Lucien Génin has completely specialized in the highly requested theme of views of Paris. Lucien Génin painted with extremely quick and easy strokes of paint, which explains his abundant production.
