Lucien Génin was first a student of the School of Fine Arts in Rouen, then in 1919 Lucien Génin was admitted to the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. In 1932 Lucien Génin received a prize from the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1960 a personal exhibition of his works was organized in Paris. Lucien Génin painted in oil and gouache. Lucien Génin received a very complete training, but has developed a personal technique all in spontaneity with an innocent look at the simple things in life. Lucien Génin painted mainly in Paris, but some views of Rouen, Lorient, Dinan, Marseille or Villefranche-sur-mer are to be noted. Lucien Génin is totally specialized in the much requested topic of views of Paris. Lucien Génin painted with extremely fast and easy touches of paint, which explains a very abundant production.
