Gustave ODIOT – Neoclassical solid silver centerpiece XIXAn important round bowl on a pedestal, in the neoclassical Directoire style, adorned with a finely chiseled decoration of garlands, palmettes and ribbons. The double-scrolled side handles frame a sober and elegant basin, highlighted by a border with a frieze of pearls and flowers. The removable silver-plated interior is original and also bears the signature "Odiot à Paris"
This piece demonstrates the refinement and neoclassical rigor characteristic of the production of Gustave Odiot, a prominent representative of the famous dynasty of Parisian goldsmiths at the end of the XIXth century.
