Les Enfants d'Édouard is a painting by Paul Delaroche.
This painting depicts Edward V and the Duke of York, locked in a room in the Tower of London. The two young princes are sitting on their bed. Edward V, sickly, melancholy, dressed in black, joins his hands, tilts his head to the side and leans on his brother's shoulder. This one looks more alert, he is wrapped in a loose black velvet robe, and he is holding an open book of hours, placed on the knees of his eldest, to whom he was reading, when suddenly a sinister sound of keys came to call his attention; he turns around in awe towards the door, whose joints allow a ray of light to filter through. A small dog looks the same way, pricks up its ears and waits for us to enter. These are the assassins sent by Gloucester who will appear.
