Presumed portrait of Jenny Marie Dumesnil d'Engentes (aristocratic family of the Islands) by Henri Lucien Doucet.
Henri Lucien Doucet (1856-1895) made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1877, then he won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1880. He won the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889. The painting that we present has was produced for the French pavilion at the Universal Exhibition in Chicago and was also presented in Munich. It is a major work in the life of the painter.
