Oil on canvas, signed lower right and numbered.
Dimensions: 36 CM X 28 CM without frame and 50 CM X 42 CM with frame.

The painter has chosen to immerse us in a stormy atmosphere, that of a beautiful Italian village with a dark sky tinged with black and gray announcing a strong storm.
The olive groves are restless and the erect village is ready to welcome the storm.

Born in Paris and living not far from the Durand-Ruel gallery, Henry de Waroquier acquired a taste for painting very early on by observing the paintings of the Impressionists.
He has a background in natural history and architecture, his first canvases he painted in Brittany under the influence of the Impressionists, the Cubists and the Nabis. Back in Paris he meets Modigliani.
He undertakes many trips to Italy, Greece, Egypt, Spain and the color will take place in his paintings.
Henry de Waroquier is a painter who also needs to express himself as a sculptor and engraver. His sculptures are numerous, he created a work for the Palais de Chaillot and was a great success.

EXHIBITIONS: He exhibited at the autumn salons, independents, from 1906-1970 and internationally.
