Nicolas miraculously intervened to protect ships in
distress and those who travel by sea, Nicolas was generous

of the poor, of the abandoned, of those who suffer injustice and of all
those who, until today, claim his paternal protection.
The most famous icon of Saint Nicholas the Thaumaturge was executed in
kyiv in the XNUMXth century and restored in Novgorod. It is kept at the
Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.

Among Catholics, Saint Nicholas is often depicted with the three children he saved.
