Jacques Marie Omer Comoreyt was born on September 11 in Lectoure and died in 1963 in the Paris region.
In Paris he was a pupil of Léon Bonnat, Fernand Cormon and Albert Maignan. He distinguished himself at the Salon des Artistes Français and received numerous medals. Painter of seascapes, he particularly likes French, Italian and eastern ports. But also genre and interior scenes.
He is also an engraver and illustrator of books.
Museums: Bayonne, Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce, Evanston near Chicago, Nichols school.

Our painting is painted on its original canvas, signed lower left, cordial memory, dedicated to Monsieur Rey.
