Lots of quality in this interesting and decorative museum quality oil on canvas depicting "A Woman with a Child".

Julien Michel Gué is at the peak of his Art in the middle of the Romantic era around 1830. It should be noted that the curators of many museums were not mistaken about this very good painter and museum acquisitions were numerous.

We present this painting in a splendid XNUMXth century gilded wood frame.

Dimensions: Without frame Height 46 cm - Length 37 cm.
With frame Height 62 cm - Length 54 cm.

Excellent state of conservation.

Gué Julien Michel:
Born July 19 or 25, 1789 in Saint-Dominique. Died December 13, 1843 in Paris. XNUMXth century French painter.
Painter of history, religious subjects, genre scenes, portraits, church interiors, landscapes, watercolourist, wall compositions, designer.
He was a pupil of Jacques Louis David, then of Pierre Lacour. He appeared at the Paris Salon from 1819 until his death. He obtained a second class medal in 1828 and another first class in 1831.
He was made Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1834.
He undertook for the Chapel of Dreux: Jesus before Caiaphas and the Holy Women at the Tomb of Christ which will be completed by his nephew Jean-Marie Oscar Gué.

A beautiful oil on canvas depicting "A Woman to the Child", a lot of quality in this excellent Museum painting, painted by Julien Michel Gué at the Apogee of his Art, in the full Romantic period circa 1830.
And, up to now, the curators have been right on this excellent painter and acquisitions museums were numerous.

We present this painting in a magnificent 18th-century gilt-wood frame.

Gué Julien Michel:
He was born on July 19th or 25th, 1789 in Santo-Domingo and died on December 13th, 1843 in Paris. It was a French painter early 19th-century.
Painter of history, religious subjects, genre scenes, portraits, inside of churches, landscapes, watercolorist, murals, draftsman.
He was the Jacques Louis David pupil, then Pierre Lacour. He appeared in the Paris-Show from 1819, up to his death.
He obtained the second-class medal in 1828, the First-Class medal in 1831 and the French “Légion d'Honneur” in 1834.
He began for the Chapel of Dreux: Jesus in front of Caïphe and Saints Femmes in the Grave of the Christ who will be ended with his nephew, Jean-Marie Oscar Gué.
