First edition of this treatise on pigeon racing, printed with the Arabic characters of Savary de Brèves and whose edition mobilized two of the greatest names in French orientalism: Silvestre de Sacy for the translation and the notes and Jean-Joseph Marcel for the 'impression. The beautiful specimen used here, called "Big Arab", is the same one which was used in 1795 for the printing of the Address of the National Convention to the French People "translated into Arabic by Ruffin, and to spread the proclamations of General Bonaparte during of the Egyptian Expedition.
