LELIÈVRE (EUGÈNE-ALFRED) – TIFFANY STERLING SILVER COFFEE POT CIRCA 1880 ART NOUVEAU

Large solid silver coffee pot with flat bottom, ovoid body, carved ebony handle, fixed with an umbel flower decoration. We find this same decoration under the pouring spout and on the hinged lid grip.

 

Dimensions: Height: 26 cm – width 19 cm base diameter 13 cm

Material: Silver 1er titer 950/°°

Weight: 1000 grams

Hallmark: MINERVA

Period: ART NOUVEAU around 1880

Provenance: Edward CHANDLER MOORE (1827/1891) Goldsmith director of TIFFANY's workshop. – Membership Collection H. descent from the Previous. Many pieces from his collection are exhibited at the MMA in NEW YORK.

  

 LELIÈVRE (Eugène-Alfred), student of MM. Mittenholf and Philippe May. — Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, Paris born in 1856, in Montmartre, at the end of his life in 1945 he lived at 16 rue du grand prieuré Paris 16th.

 His workshop was at 14 bis rue des Minimes, Paris. Lelievre exhibited at La Société des Artistes Décorateurs, La Société des Artistes Français and La Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts
