First director of the Royal School of Bridges and Roads, a true spiritual father for his students, the engineer Jean-Rodolphe Perronet (1708-1794) left a work as remarkable and innovative as that of the teacher. These new models of works of art are based on his training as an architect and on the reflections of the time on hydrodynamics and the search for less resistance to the flow of water. A renowned hydrologist, he is involved in the development of ports, harbors and many other projects. “Highly esteemed and very well executed work” (Brunet).
