Dimensions:
Length: 20 cm – Base: 8 cm – Height: 18 cm
A stunning mirror-polished stainless steel cocktail shaker with a spherical shape, featuring an arched handle encompassing the body and a cylindrical stopper topped with a small square knob.
The whole is distinguished by perfect symmetry and geometric purity typical of 1930s modernist design. The contrast between the solid volumes and the lightness of the curve gives the object a balance that is both functional and sculptural.
This model was long attributed to Marianne Brandt, an emblematic figure of the Bauhaus, before research carried out by the collector Rolf Walter demonstrated, based on period drawings, that it was in fact a creation by the Swedish designer Sylvia Stave for the house of CG Hallberg, Stockholm, around 1935.
