Jules NOEL, Born in 1815 in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) - Died in 1881 in Algiers
Painter of genre scenes, animated landscapes and seascapes, landscapes, seascapes, church interiors – gouache painter – watercolourist pastellist – lithographer – draftsman –
A pupil of Cherioux in Brest, Jules NOEL came to Paris in 1840, where he exhibited at the Salon until 1879 - Brittany and Normandy are, apart from the Middle East, its outdoor workshops - peaceful fishing ports for pathetic scenes of shipwreck, Jules NOEL puts as much verve and brio to camp his subject - his watercolors and paintings are of a spiritual execution - Jules NOEL was particularly successful in the representation of the Normandy coasts, - his familiar scenes of life in town, in the countryside, by the sea, constitute a picturesque and full testimony of life - very appreciated, the workshop of Jules NOEL is the meeting place of several generations of artists from romanticism to realism.
