Pair of Louis period sconces XVI with two sconces in finely chiseled and gilded bronze, the reserve plates with a beveled frame with a frieze of water leaves ending in a putto topped with vine branches holding the two sconces with a binet with channels, leaves and seeds. Leafy base with bread apple. Very beautiful period matte and burnished mercury gilding.
After a model by the bronzier and engraver Pierre Gouthière (1732 – 1813), after a drawing by Jean-Louis Prieur (1732 – 1795).
Very good state of conservation.
The wall lights have not been drilled for electricity to respect authenticity.
