
Louis style clock XVI in gilt bronze decorated with a garland of laurel leaves and acanthus leaves. It is surmounted by an antique urn entwined with laurel leaves. The white enamel dial shows Roman and Arabic numerals as well as the watchmaker's signature. The base in
white Carrara marble is decorated with a quiver trophy and gilt bronze friezes. The clock rests on four spinning tops in gilded bronze. Revised mechanism with its key and pendulum. The dial signed "Lepaute à Paris", watchmaker mentioned in the Tardy, Dictionary of French Watchmakers, 1972, p. 384
