GOSSELIN Antoine, notable cabinetmaker, born in Sarton, near Amiens, in 1731, died in Paris on December 16, 1794. Arrived to settle in the capital, he gained the master's degree on July 9, 1752, was sworn in his community in 1772 in 1774, assistant to the syndics in 1777, syndic the following year, and continued to sit on the board of his body, as deputy or administrator, until the Revolution. This manufacturer, who operated a very active workshop, rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, opposite rue de Charonne, is cited with honor in the General Almanac of the Merchants of the Kingdom.
The Christiania Museum in Oslo owns a chest of drawers in marquetry dating from the end of Louis XV's time, the decorations of which include a landscape skillfully treated in pretty light tones
