Designer and painter POUCETTE, whose real name is Nicolas ORTIS, is a French artist born in 1935 in Paris. 
She made herself known at the age of sixteen, offering her drawings on the terraces of cafes in Saint-Germain-des-Près.
In 1958, she illustrated Montesquieu's “Persian Letters”, in two volumes, and the Arabian Nights.
She exhibited at the Salon Comparisons in 1974. She exhibited regularly in Paris and London and made several long trips to the USA where she also exhibited.
.She executed major orders for large wall panels: in 1961, seven for Lord Warwick and five for a Swiss palace in 1968 as well as a London club.
His naive and colorful style quickly attracted an international clientele.
