Sloping desk / sloping secretary / donkey secretary from the transition period Louis XV, Louis XVI.
Very high quality 18th century work.
The subtly arched legs typical of the Louis XV style support a straighter body dressed in Greek style specific to the Louis style XVI.
Likewise, the flap is designed with beautiful curves associated with the Louis XV style.
Double-sided, this secretary has 5 exterior drawers, 4 interior drawers and 1 secret compartment inside.
The tablet is adorned with its original tawny leather decorated with gold patterns.
Tablet height: 69 cm.
Dimensions of the tablet: 77 cm x 32 cm.
The rosewood is worked in symmetrical crimping and is highlighted by the darker color of the rosewood.
In addition, they are sycamore nets, forming Greek Louis XVI, which come to create a subtle and elegant border.
Finally, subtle chiseled and gilded bronzes, keyhole entries, uprights and clogs, dress this secretary.
Note a restoration of one of the legs (visible in the photo) and the wood on the back to be worked on (visible in the photo).
There is a decorative key for the flap, and a functional key for the drawers.
A lock is missing and another has been changed recently.
