The painter invites us to admire the beauty of St. Mark's Square and its unique architecture. Stefano Novo enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he studied under Pompeo Molmenti. He began working in various churches in the Venetian regions and Padua, creating numerous frescoes. Easel painting took over; he was fond of lively, colorful street scenes. He became known at the Turin Exhibition of 1884, and then participated in other exhibitions in Florence, Bologna, Milan, Palermo, and Venice, where he was present at the National Exhibition of 1887.
His fame spread to the United States and England, where he exhibited in Chicago, London and Glasgow.
