Italy, 1970s
Dimensions: 97 x 60 cm approximately.
An exceptional businessman, Sciolari is also a creative designer. Throughout his career, he designed magnificent and incredible lighting fixtures such as the “Mod A5011” pendant lamp (circa 1950), the “4079” floor lamp (1965), and of course, the Cubic chandelier (1970s). Angelo Gaetano Sciolari was born in 1927 in Italy. After graduating from architecture school, the young man returned to his first passion: cinema, and in particular, filmmaking. However, after his father's death in 1949, Sciolari had no choice but to take over the family lighting manufacturing business. In just a few years, the designer transformed the company and propelled it onto the international stage. The Sciolari company became the leading Italian lighting retailer in the United States (products imported by America by Lightolier & Progress Lighting)! Sciolari's creations were even featured in the famous television series Dallas! Gaetano is not only a brilliant entrepreneur but also a prolific and talented designer. He has worked for major design names such as Stilnovo, Boulanger, and Stilkronen.
