
Rare games table in mahogany and mahogany veneer, ebony and ivory from the Louis period XVI. The table rests on tapered and fluted legs ending in hooves. It opens with four belt drawers. The table has three removable game boards decorated on both sides with the goose game, Nain Jaune, the cavagnole game, the Hymen game. Its large double-sided board has on one side the chess game, checkers game and roulette game, the second side presents the green felt.
The table has a full set of chess, checkers and 30 tric-trac tokens, two leather goblets, a dice set, two candlesticks.
A table in the same spirit was sold on November 29-30, 1976 under number 249, Palais Galliera (see Denise Ledoux-Lebard, The cabinetmakers of XIXth century, 1795 – 1889, their works and their marks, editions of the amateur 1984, p. 87 ill. p. 85 and the cover page).
