VIGNON Victor Alfred Paul Born in 1847 / Died in 1909. Landscape painter, still lifes, watercolorist.

Around 1869 Victor VIGNON was a student of Camille Corot. Gifted with extreme sensitivity and remarkable qualities as a colorist, Victor VIGNON translated the campaign with a moving charm, which touches deeply. Victor VIGNON held an exhibition in 1884 which was a great success. It is interesting to note that this student of Camille Corot, also a friend of Adolphe Cals, was then the companion of Camille Pissarro and Cézanne in Auvers-sur-Oise in 1874-1876, and that he exhibited with the Impressionists from 1880 to 1886. Victor VIGNON therefore constitutes a testimony concerning the little-known links which could exist between Corot and the painters of Barbizon, and the impressionists. Painter of still lifes and landscapes, he used precise drawing which radically separated him from his Impressionist companions.
