First edition, second printing (unjustified, published the same year as the luxury printing) of this famous work illustrated with 28 double-page color inset prints by Kajita Hanko, Kano Tomonobu, Okakura Shusui, Kawanabe Kyosui and Eda Mahiko, and numerous black vignettes in the text. Curious edition of La Fontaine's fables belonging to the genre of books on crepe paper published in Tokyo between 1885 and the beginning of the XNUMXth century for a local Western clientele, but also and above all for export.
