Verre églomisé is an ancient technique that has a rich history in the decorative arts. Typically performed on a panel of glass (for a frame, for example) covered with gold or silver foil, the technique involves etching a pattern across the foil and applying colored pigment so that the colored parts appear through the engraved areas.
