Bronze with nuanced brown patina.
The young man is shown sitting on a rock.
Between his feet is an open book, bearing the inscription “TO THE FOUR WINDS OF HEAVEN HE SOWS IDEAS, GERMS OF THE FUTURE, EP” .
Bronze Tribute offered to “President Joseph Fischer” (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rodange Mining and Metallurgy), by his colleagues.
 Mention “Fine Arts Fair” , on the left side of the terrace.
Signature of the sculptor, “E.PICAULT” , in the hollow, on the terrace. 
Old edition sculpture, signed by the publisher “MARCEL GUILLEMARD” , followed by numbering "12" and the mention "BRONZE" .

Émile Louis Picault is a famous French sculptor and medalist , born August 24, 1833 in Paris.
He is particularly known for his bronze sculptures, which depict mythological or allegorical subjects.
A student of the painter Henri Paul Royer, he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon, between 1863 and 1914, where he obtained an honorable mention in 1883 .
E.Picault often chooses warriors and heroes, praising patriotic virtues, through inscriptions, in Latin or French.
Historical or literary figures are also among his subjects.
A gifted orientalist, he also created works depicting Egyptian characters.
He is the author of Monument to “Joseph Lakanal” , erected in Foix, in 1882.
