Serge CHARCHOUNE is a French painter from Bougourouslan. On his arrival in Paris in 1912, he attended the Russian Academy of Montparnasse and then the Academy of Palette.
His painting is both influenced by cubism and fauvism. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants from 1913.
In 1971 a retrospective was dedicated to him at the Musée d'Art Mderne in Paris.
Our painting is painted on its original canvas, it is signed lower left and dated 1941.
Museums: Dijon, Ales, Lille.
