The painting is signed lower left. It carries a magnificent gilded wooden frame.

Victor Bourgeois is from Amiens. He trained in the fine arts and at the Sèvres factory. His friend Guillaumin taught him how to capture light. He diffuses it on his landscapes, his bouquets of flowers and his still lifes.
