Moroccan Tamegroute Ceramic Vase Sculpture
This vintage handcrafted green enameled vase is a mere sculpture from Southern Moroccan village of Tamegroute, where skilled potters have practiced local techniques that have been passed down through generations. The characteristic green glazes, ranging from earthy olives to vivid greens, are the result of variations in a traditional mixture of magnesium, copper oxide and barley flour. With its unique form, vibrant color and the heavily grained glaze, this vase strikes a perfect balance between art and design, the embodiment of a unique and long-lived craft. The anthropomorphic and abstract shape is similar to those of Jean Arp, Valentine Schlegel, Jean Lerat, Jacqueline Lerat, Pierre Székely, Vera Szekely, Georges Jouve, André Borderie, Roger Capron, Simone Bodmer-Turner…

Height : 19,7 inches (50 cm)
Wight : 12,9 inches (33 cm)

Material and techniques : ceramic, terracotta
Place of origin : Morocco
Period : 20th century
2100 euros
