Sculpture – En Pénitence , Nicolas Lecornet Dit Lecorney – Bronze

Épreuve en bronze à patine brune , représentant un buste de jeune garçon , portant un bonnet d’âne orné de lettres de l’alphabet , par le sculpteur Nicolas Lecornet dit « Lecorney » .
Un bonnet d’âne , est un couvre-chef conique , muni ou non de deux appendices , censés représenter les oreilles d’un âne .
Cartouche portant le titre de la sculpture « En Pénitence » sur le buste de l’enfant .
Signature du sculpteur « LECORNEY » sur le coté droit du buste.
Sculpture d’édition ancienne , période seconde partie du XIXème siècle .
Très bon état de conservation et de patine .

Proof in bronze with brown patina , representing a bust of a young boy , wearing a dunce’s cap decorated with letters of the alphabet , by the sculptor Nicolas Lecornet known as «Lecorney » .
A donkey’s cap is a conical headdress , with or without two appendages , supposed to represent the ears of a donkey .
Cartouche bearing the title of the sculpture « In Penance » on the child’s bust .
Sculptor’s signature « LECORNEY » , on the right-hand side of the bust.
Early edition sculpture, second half of the 19th century .
Very good condition and patina .
