Alfred Thiele , sculpteur et médailleur allemand de renom , se caractérise par une profonde sensibilité artistique .
Formé à l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Leipzig , dans les grandes traditions de la sculpture classique , Alfred Thiele se démarque du paysage artistique du XX ème , en intégrant des éléments contemporains .
Il travailla brièvement à Munich , avant de se consacrer pleinement à la sculpture dans son propre Atelier , à Leipzig .
Ses sculptures souvent influencées par la nature et l’humanité , révèlent une introspection permettant au spectateur d’établir un lien émotionnel avec chaque oeuvre.
À partir de 1921 , il enseigna à l’École des Arts Appliqués de Leipzig , où il dirigea le département de sculpture , jusqu’en 1953.
