The last book illustrated by Utamaro, who died two years later, the work is particularly known in France through the book by Edmond de Goncourt, Outamaro, the painter of green houses. According to a common practice in Japanese engraving, Utamaro delegated part of the drawings to 3 of his disciples: Kikumaro, Hidemaro and Takemaro.
