The painting represents a view of the Parterre d'Eau with, in the background, a view of the facade of the Palace of Versailles and its royal chapel. The basin is endowed with stylized statues depicting the rivers and streams of France, accompanied by nymphs and children. The back of the painting is very interesting because it served as palettes for the painter. It alone forms a colorful and abstract painting.
